Getting back into skiing this year after ACL surgery has been challenging. I’m just over six months out and some days, it feels like I’m taking two steps forward one step back. It’s been a slow process and my knee still feels like it’s 70%. ⁣⁣It gives me a ton of appreciation for the times in my life I’ve been in peak fitness. And it makes skiing interesting again. I’m learning so many new ways to use my leg everyday. It excites and tires me. My brain is making new connections. My balance and proprioception are challenged. ⁣⁣I’m working my way back up slowly and conservatively and taking it one day at a time. And constantly telling my muscles and knee how strong and awesome they are! ⁣⁣Your body hears what you say to it and your cells and tissue react.
