Tomorrow, we’re leaving basecamp (pictured here at an elevation of 17,000’/5181m)- our comfy home for the past week. Basecamp here on the north side of Everest/Chomolungma is higher than any permanent human habitation, so it’s kind of mind-blowing to think we’re going to 19,000’ (interim camp) and then 21,500 (advanced basecamp) to spend multiple nights. I am grateful for all the time we put in the @hypoxico tent before we came and I’m excited and nervous to make our way up the mountain and get into the snow and ice.
