Hi! I'm Caroline. It's been a minute since we introduced ourselves, so I thought I'd take the opportunity. I grew up in Minnesota and moved to Utah with my family when I was 15. Even in the Midwest, I dreamt of becoming a professional skier. When I was 18, I started building my ski career while pursuing a degree in Anthropology from the University of Utah. Now, at age 33, I'm a professional ski mountaineer and activist, and I’m humbled to be supported by socially and environmentally responsible companies such as @patagonia, @keen, @fattire, @rylo, @clifbar, @lekiusa, @julboeyewearna, @movementskis, and @prethelmets. Two weeks ago, I tore my ACL, right after I made the final deposit on a trip to climb and ski Everest. Despite the setback, I still plan to attempt the Everest summit by way of Tibet. I'm summiting Everest as a #ClimbForEquality to talk about the lack of womxn on mountaintops and in leadership positions across society, and how men and people of all genders can support womxn's leadership. It's not an easy topic to talk about, but it's near and dear to my heart. I believe how we treat people is how we treat the planet and that we are part of nature and the broader ecosystem. By elevating the status of womxn, girls, and mothers in society, we are doing our part to make the world a better place. This is all a big learning process, and I don't always get it right, but I love the challenge of using this platform to make a positive influence. Thanks for reading and for following along. I'd love to hear more about you! Introduce yourself in the comments below!Photo: @rob.lea
