This SuperBowl Sunday, I #TakeAKnee to support football players who are bringing awareness to police brutality, racism, and power inequality. I support the leadership of @kaepernick7, who said he was taking a knee to "stand with the oppressed. This stand wasn't for me. This is because I'm seeing things happen to people that don't have a voice, people that don't have a platform to talk and have their voices heard and affect change. So I'm in the position where I can do that and I'm going to do that for people that can't." Racism is a big problem in America. It's uncomfortable to talk about. But we cannot afford to be silent. As white people, we need to use our platforms and voices as allies and supporters of these movements. We live in a great country, but we can and must do better, for each other, and to honor our country's greater Democratic ideals of liberty and justice for all. #BlackLivesMatter
