It's one thing to see a place. It's another to sleep there. At night, Carrizo Plain came alive with wildlife- from the whooo of the owl, to the scurry of the kangaroo rat and the bark of the fox. This California National Monument is still under threat, as the @usinterior has not released any definitive information on whether they plan to shrink the protected landscape or open it up to oil drilling.
