Putting the Insta back in Instagram today. I love sharing photos in real times. And today- ACL buddies are back in the game! ⁣⁣This morning, I went out for my third day of skiing and my first time to the top of the run. I went with @stasia_art, who also tore her ACL last winter (also left knee). We’re both stronger than ever! My knee felt so good and stable!!! ⁣⁣Before last winter, tearing my ACL was my worst nightmare. Yet despite the injury, I’ve had one of my best years yet! There have been some ups and downs, but the overall trajectory has been overwhelmingly up. ⁣⁣I’m so grateful my sponsors stuck with me. A lot of athlete contracts have clauses that allow the brand to drop athletes if they are unable to perform due to injury. It’s the reality of the profession I’ve chosen. Most of the brands I work with are like family to me (@clifbar even included a pregnancy protection clause in my latest contract!!!) and I’m so grateful they continue to believe in me! Thank you @patagonia_snow, @keen, @clifbar, @fattire, @lekiusa, @julboeyewearna, @gaiaherbs, and @prethelmets.

When it just doesn’t seem like there are enough hours in the day, I love the simplicity of running (it’s more like a run-walk or ralk for me, but that doesn’t matter). It’s about grabbing the essentials and heading out the door to the nearest trail for a sunset run on a backyard peak. ⁣⁣Being out in nature, moving, however slowly, in the elements, is important to my mental health, especially during these fall and winter months. Once I’m outside, my worries seem to disappear. ⁣⁣Thanks to the #JaybirdVista headphones, I have even one less thing to worry about since they are the only true wireless headphone that is truly #EarthProof. They are tested in the harshest conditions, so whether it’s dirt, shock or hurricane-force winds, they are good to go. ⁣⁣Want to experience them for yourself? I’m doing a giveaway! Tag a friend, follow @jaybirdsport and comment on your ideal #EarthProof adventure. I’ll pick what I think sounds like the coolest adventure and announce the winner on Monday. #sponsored

One of the best ways to improve your skill set as a mountaineer is to learn how to ice climb. It’s a good time to start thinking about signing up for your local ice festival! Ice festivals offer an affordable way to try ice climbing and improve your winter climbing skills. ⁣⁣I am so excited to go to the @michiganicefest this winter, talking about activism and sharing some tools to be an informed voter. I’ve always wanted to ice climb in the Midwest and I can’t wait to take some clinics, climb some pitches and hang with some cool people. I hope to see you at Michigan Ice Fest. If you can’t make it there, be sure to find and support an ice festival near you! Your mind doesn’t have a lot of room to wander when you’re skiing lines like this. ⁣⁣Couloirs, chutes, gullies – whatever you want to call them, they’re my favorite places to ski.⁣⁣Big mountain dreaming today… ⁣Photo: Julian Alps of Slovenia. ⁣⁣#bigmtndreams #climbforequality ⁣ @patagonia_snow

Once you go down the path of development, it’s not easy to go back. And once you contaminate water or the soil, it’s not something you can easily undo. That’s a huge reason to keep these lands protected. ⁣ ⁣I recently had the opportunity to lend my voice to the @wildernesssociety #SaveRoadless campaign. You may not know it but roadless areas make up a third of all national forest lands. In Utah alone, roadless areas are home to 1.2 million miles of backcountry ski terrain, 1,300 climbing routes and 1,100 miles of hiking trails. Roadless areas belong to everyone.⁣⁣That’s why we should all be concerned when one is in jeopardy. The Trump administration is proposing to remove protections from the largest roadless area: the Tongass National Forest in Southeast Alaska. It’s the largest intact temperate rainforest in the world. Some refer to it as America’s Amazon. These old-growth trees are champions of absorbing harmful, climate-warming carbon emissions.⁣⁣#ProtectTheTongass by speaking up for roadless areas via the link below or in my profile: https://bit.ly/34Io0NN⁣⁣@u.s.forestservice @conservationalliance
