Flying to Reno/Tahoe for Bearpaw Shoot

IMG_0007Oquirrh Mountains - scouting new shreddable linesI love travelling- while air travel has its downsides, it sure beats the drive to Tahoe!

This week, I’m in Tahoe for a lifestyle shoot for Bearpaw Shoes. It’s been awhile since I travelled to California on an airplane (I usually road trip) and it felt refreshing and glamorous. One of the upsides to being petite is that I can comfortably relax, compute and sleep in the tiny seats.

Whenever I fly out of Salt Lake International, I try to get a window seat so I can look at the mountains from a birds eye view and see the mountains I’ve skied while scouting potential new zones for hiking and skiing. It is so exciting to look at a mountain, river or canyon from the air and think back to the experience of being there on the ground – it brings a whole new perspective. This time, I was able to get a great look at the Oquirrh mountains located west of Salt Lake City. They were so beautifully snow capped that I had to take some shots. I’d love to hear anybody’s experience with skiing or hiking out there!

Stay tuned for some behind the scenes shots from the Bearpaw shoot. I hope everyone is enjoying January and partaking in outdoor adventures since it is the national learn a snow sport month and most U.S. states have or are getting snow. Be safe out there and have fun!

Ventura Flea Market

If you ever happen to be in Ventura, CA on a Wednesday morning, make sure to stop by the fairgrounds for the Swap Meet/Flea Market. It is one of the best I’ve ever been to!

Here are some shots from the last time I was there:
