Halloween
Halloween is one of my favorite holidays. I love getting creative and thinking up new, non-cliche ideas and then figuring out how to put them together.
I’ve had some interesting costumes over the years. Last year, my friend Amanda LaBerge were in Northern California, and after tasting wine in Napa, we decided to dress up as bunches of grapes:
It’s not always easy to come up with ideas, but I always strive to put something together that is not overly provocative. I always see so many pirates, pimps and prostitutes…
So this year, I had two ideas.
First, my alter-ego, Augustus Van Gleich, a young German boy.
And my other alter-ego, me, 12 years ago, as a Catholic school girl scout.
In the last analysis, Augustus was far more shocking and provided a much more radical transformation. Before I went out, I decided to add a beard.
And finally…the most shocking:
So that was it. And let me know if you ever need a costume idea. Next year, I’m thinking I might have to be Axel Rose.
